UAB Umaras, one of the largest polyethylene film and packaging manufacturers in the Baltic States, has officially joined the Lithuanian Plastics Cluster. Membership provides an opportunity to take a more active role in industry dialogue, share decades of manufacturing experience, and work with partners to develop solutions that strengthen Lithuania’s plastics industry.

Coordinated by LINPRA, the Lithuanian Plastics Cluster brings together companies from the plastics industry and developers of technological solutions. Its activities focus on knowledge sharing, innovation, joint projects, and strengthening the competitiveness of Lithuania’s plastics industry.

Constructive Industry Representation and Knowledge Sharing

Dennis Granqvist, CEO of UAB Umaras, emphasises that joining the Cluster is an opportunity to actively contribute to the future of the plastics industry as a whole:“We see joining the Lithuanian Plastics Cluster as an opportunity to play a more active role in strengthening the plastics industry as a whole. Today, the sector operates in a rapidly changing regulatory and economic environment, making it particularly important to have a strong, evidence-based voice in dialogue with decision-makers. We believe that bringing together the sector’s expertise and experience is essential not only for effectively representing its interests, but also for making a constructive contribution to decisions that shape the future of the industry. For our part, we are ready to share Umaras’ experience and actively contribute to joint initiatives.”

Collaboration to Strengthen the Plastics Industry

With more than three decades of experience, Umaras brings extensive manufacturing and technological expertise to the Cluster. The company uses electricity backed by guarantees of origin, works with bio-based raw materials that meet ISCC certification requirements, and is increasing its use of post-consumer recycled polyethylene (PCR).

Through collaboration with other Cluster members, Umaras aims to contribute to three key areas:

  • Industry representation – participating in dialogue with decision-makers and helping develop evidence-based positions for the sector.
  • Knowledge and experience sharing – collaborating with industry companies and research institutions to exchange technological and manufacturing expertise.
  • Joint initiatives – developing projects and partnerships that strengthen the competitiveness and export opportunities of Lithuania’s plastics industry.

UAB Umaras looks forward to developing meaningful partnerships, sharing practical experience, and contributing to a stronger and more competitive plastics industry in Lithuania through its membership in the Lithuanian Plastics Cluster.
